Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. He wrote sports for The Ithacan and The Ithaca Journal before taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest, where he served as the sports editor at the Shoshone News-Press until heading back east to work with Daily Voice.

Shelter In Place Order Lifted In Baltimore County Following Barricade: Police (Updated) Some residents in Baltimore County were instructed to shelter in place as police negotiators work to resolve a barricade situation. Multi-Vehicle Crash Ties Up Traffic For Miles On I-95 In Prince George's County A multi-vehicle crash led to delays on I-95 on Thursday morning approaching three miles in Prince George's County, officials say. An alert was issued advising that there was a crash on the Outer Loop at MD-450 (exit 20/Annapolis Road) that resulted in two left lans blocked, with two right lanes open. 'Marijuana Deal Gone Bad' Lands Silver Spring Man Decades In Prison For Murder A 25-year-old man will have decades behind bars to contemplate his life decisions after being convicted of the murder of a man during a botched drug deal, the Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office announced on Wednesday. DC Man 'In And Out Of Hospital All His Life' Killed In Suitland Crash A father is rallying the community's support for his son following a fatal two-vehicle crash as he hopes to provide him a proper send off. DC resident Tyrone Allen, Jr., 25, was killed in a crash shortly before 4 p.m. on Sunday May 5 on 3600 block of Silver Hill Road in Suitland involving a sedan and pick-up truck, according to investigators.
