A 61-year-old man was killed in a fire in Jersey City on the early morning of Thursday, May 2 authorities said. At 4:51 a.m., firefighters responded to 270 Marvin Blvd. and found smoke on the 12th floor of the 21-story residential building, Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said. Firefighters pulled Ramon Abello from the apartment where the fire originated, Wallace-Scalcione said. Three people were stabbed at a McDonald's in Newark on the evening of Wednesday, May 1, authorities said. At 6:40 p.m., police responded to the McDonald's at 569 McCarter Highway and located two women and one man who had been stabbed by a male suspect following an altercation, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said.
