After making landfall in Biloxi, Mississippi on Saturday night, Nate was downgraded back to tropical storm status. A turn toward the northeast with an increase in forward speed is now expected as Nate's center will continue to move inland across the Deep South, Tennessee Valley, and central Appalachian Mountains through Monday.
Rainfall from Nate is expected to arrive in the area early in the day on Columbus Day, and become heavy at times with thunderstorms possible and a total of between 1-2 inches of rainfall. (See image above) Monday's high temperature will be in the low-70s.
There may be a shower or two around on a cloudy Tuesday morning before it becomes partly sunny in the afternoon with the high temperature climbing to the upper-70s.
It will become partly sunny on Wednesday with a high around 70.
