The students helped raise money for the children of St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital by completing math work on their grade level, which was provided to them by the cause. Students collected donations, hoping to raise $500. The school surpassed that goal by raising more than $8,000.

Ms. Flores’ fourth-grade class raised more than $1,000 alone. Other top contributors included fifth-grader Biagio Vermandois ($300), fourth-grader Sean Sniffen ($330) and fourth-grader Lila Feder ($500).
