PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Students from Peekskill High School visited the United Nations for its International Day of Peace last month.
Before going, the group had developed projects describing one of the U.N.'s sustainable development programs.
The visit included speeches by celebrities, Nobel Peace Laureates, and student presenters on how to create a sustainable environment that could lead to lasting peace.
"The experience has excited our students and we hope to participate as presenters next year," said Christen McDonnell, a Peekskill High School social studies teacher on the trip.
