With three seats available for election on the Peekskill City Council, Andrew Torres, Drew Claxton and Marbeth McGowan will run on the Independence ballot.
Incumbent Mayor Mary Foster will also run on the Independence ticket to seek re-election.
Independence voters can also opt to vote for a write-in candidate in both the City Council and mayoral races.
Additionally, Buchanan resident Duane Jackson, running for the District 1 seat on the Westchester County Board of Legislators, will be on the Independence ticket. Voters also have the option of writing in a candidate for the District 1 seat, which represents parts of Cortlandt and Peekskill, as well as Yorktown.
County Legislator Catherine Borgia is running on the Independence ticket to keep her District 9 seat. Voters have the option of writing in a candidate for the District 9 seat, which represents Briarcliff Manor, parts of Cortlandt, Croton, Ossining and parts of Peekskill.
The primary election will be held Sept. 10.
Polls for the primary election open at 6 a.m. and close at 9 p.m. Check the Westchester Board of Elections website for information about polling locations.
This year’s general election will be held Nov. 5.
