Man Faces Weapons Charge After Running Light On Route 9D, Police Say

EAST FISHKILL, N.Y. -- A Wappingers Falls man was charged with criminal possession of a weapon after being stopped for running a run light in the Town of Fishkill on Saturday.

Latif S. Reid-Ogarro, 22, was stopped by New York State Police after running the red light on Route 9D. During a search, troopers found Reid-Ogarro with a revolver with a defaced serial number, and a passenger with a small amount of marijuana, according to state police.

He was charged with for criminal possession of a weapon. His passenger, Alara Bedka, 23, of East Fishkill, was charged with possession of marijuana.

Reid-Ogarro was arraigned at the City of Beacon Court. He was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 9

Bedka was issued a ticket and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 5.
