Fiery Head-On Collision Leads To DWI Charges For Two Yorktown Residents

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – Two Yorktown Heights residents have been charged with driving while intoxicated after a car crash late Thursday night, according to Yorktown police.

Adam Kaczor, 19, has been charged with DWI, improper left turn and failure to yield one-half of the roadway ,and Dennis Marralheiro, a 35-year-old Yorktown resident, has been charged with felony DWI, a felony, on Friday, according to Yorktown police. 

Police say they were dispatched to Route 35 at the intersection of Broad Street on the report of a head-on collision and personal injury automobile accident. Following an investigation at the scene, Kaczor was identified as the operator of one vehicle and Marralheiro the operator of the second vehicle, police said.  Following further investigation, police found that both parties were operating the vehicles while intoxicated, police said. The charge against Marralheiro was upgraded to a felony after police learned that he had a prior conviction for driving while intoxicated within the last 10 years, police said.  Kaczor, Marralheiro and three 19-year-old passengers were transported to Westchester Medical Center for serious, but non-life threatening injuries, police said. Kaczor and Marralheiro were processed at Westchester Medical Center, issued an appearance ticket and released to hospital staff to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, Jan 22, police said.
