PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – Mary J. O'Connor, of Peekskill and formerly of the Bronx and County Clare, Ireland, died May 30. She was 86.
O'Connor was born Jan. 12, 1929, in Coore, County Clare, Ireland, to Matthew and Bridget (née Cleary) Gleeson, emigrating to America in 1948 and working in Manhattan and at Union Hospital in the Bronx until her retirement.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband Michael, and daughter Claire, and is survived by three children, James and his wife Maryann, Dr. Kathleen Ronca and her husband Joseph, and Maureen Doane; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two brothers, three sisters, four sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours are from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at E.O. Curry Funeral Home in Peekskill.
A funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Assumption Church in Peekskill.
Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
