Carlin was a civilian dispatcher for the Peekskill Police Department from 1980 to 1998 according to Chief Eric Johansen.
"She was really a lifeline to police officers in the field," Johansen said. "She was very good at what she did. She was a wonderful representative for the Peekskill Police. She had a distinguished career and was a very good friend to all the officers she worked with."
Visitation will take place from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Dorsey-Carlone Funeral Home, 1100 Cortlandt St., Peekskill.
A service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Assumption, First Street, Peekskill.
