PEEKSKILL, N.Y. - Alexander Waters, a lifelong Peekskill resident, died Wednesday, Nov. 6. He was 95.
Waters was born Oct. 25, 1918, in Peekskill, son of George and Bessie List Waters. He was a life member of Elks Lodge 744 in Peekskill. He worked as a salesman at Miles Shoe Store in Peekskill, and later worked in Security at Phelps Memorial Hospital. After retiring in the late 1990's, he returned to Phelps and did volunteer work. In his younger years, he also worked for the New York Central Railroad.
Waters is survived by his daughter, Alexis (Louis) Cavallo of Cortlandt Manor; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren and sister, Mildred Adams. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen; son, Gary A. Waters; and grandson, Darren J. Waters.
Calling hours are Friday, Nov. 8 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov.9 at the funeral home, followed by burial at Hillside Cemetery in Cortlandt Manor.
