A 61-year-old Verplanck man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash Thursday morning. Thomas Hecker was traveling northbound on John Walsh Boulevard around 6:30 a.m. Thursday, said Peekskill Police spokesperson Lt. John White. At the same time, a sedan was heading southbound on the road and made a left turn, impeding the motorcycle's path. The motorcyclist then hit the rear bumper of the sedan and was thrown from the motorcycle, White said. Hecker was in a medically induced coma and in critical condition Friday.
The victim of a weekend motorcycle accident has been identified as George McIver, 51, of New Rochelle, according to a report on LoHud.com. Two other men from Peekskill, Lamont Parks, 49, and Corey Beech, 25, were also in the crash and remain hospitalized, according to the report.
Peekskill police arrested a 38-year-old Wappingers Falls man after a traffic stop revealed he had 11 active suspensions on his driver's license, according to reports.
