PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The Peekskill Recreation Department helped residents kick off  the holiday season Saturday with its annual tree lighting.

The event featured music from the Peekskill Community Choir, free cookies and hot cocoa and of course a visit from Santa. The event culminated with the lighting of this year's holiday tree at the downtown gazebo.
