PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- More than 30 participants took a dip in the Hudson River on New Year's Day as part of the Third Annual Polar Plunge, raising more than $10,000.
The money benefits This is Me Foundation , an organization that helps to fund college scholarships for local students who have faced adversity or helped a friend through adversity. Proceeds also benefit students who have alopecia, an autoimmune disease that causes hair loss.
The Polar Plunge was sponsored by The Quiet Man Public House.
