WESTCHESTER, N.Y. -- A battle of the bands and other live music performances are among the events this weekend in the Peekskill and Cortlandt Area:

Friday, May 10

Hudson River Rug Hookers Exhibit: 12 p.m.-4 p.m. The event is free to the public. Temple Israel, 31 Glengary Road, Croton-on-Hudson.

Peekskill Garden Club Plant Sale: 12 - 7 p.m. The sale will run both Friday and Saturday. Riverfront Green Park, Peekskill.

Drew Bordeaux: 9:30 p.m. Bordeaux is first and foremost a songwriter. He has composed dozens of songs performed at an impressive list of venues. His first EP, "Live Your Way", has deeply personal lyrics and catchy melodies. Admission is a $5 entertainment fee for all, including diners. 12 Grapes, 12 N. Division St., Peekskill.

Saturday, May 11

Saw Mill River Audobon second Saturday Walk: 9 a.m. The event will be held at Brinton Brook Sanctuary, Route 9A, Croton-on-Hudson.

Once Upon A Time Preschool/Daycare Open House: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Once Upon A Time Preschool/Daycare, 47 Peekskill Hollow Road, Putnam Valley.

Hudson Valley Pet Food Pantry Pet Food Drive: 10:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The pantry will be collecting food outside the ShopRite supermarket, Route 6, Cortlandt Manor.

Creative Teen Drama Workshop: 11 a.m. The workshop caters to ages 13-16. Field Library and Neighborhood Center, 4 Nelson Ave, Peekskill.

KFM Foundation Mother's Day Brunch: 11-2 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the foundation’s cancer fundraising efforts. Augie's Prime Cut, 3436 Lexington Ave, Mohegan Lake.

Battle of the Bands at Bands at Blais: 6:30 p.m. Bands participating include the Croton Cocktail Band, the Crowdads, Otis Grimes and the Sticks, Plan 9, The Purple Couch, The Russ Harper Trio, Unlimited Sex Appeal, and the 145s In addition to the bands, the event will feature food and drinks for sale. Admission is $40 for adults, $20 for students. Children under 12 are free. Blais Auditorium, Croton-Harmon H.S., 36 Old Post Road South, Croton-on-Hudson.

The Chip White Ensemble: 7:30 p.m. Chip has performed/recorded with Carman McCrae, Jaki Byard, John Abercrombie, Chet Baker, Claudio Roditi, Enrico Rava, Jimmy McGriff, Houston Person and Etta Jones, Irene Reid, and Savion Glover, among others. Admission is $10.BeanRunner Café, 201 S. Division St.

A Tribute to The Eagles with Already Gone: 9:30 p.m. With their combined 100-plus years of performing experience, the band recreates the great harmonies and music of this legendary group. Admission is a $10 entertainment fee or $5 with a dinner entrée. 12 Grapes, 12 N. Division St., Peekskill.

Sunday, May 12

Sleepy Hollow String Band: 1 p.m. The Bluegrass/Blues group will perform a free live set for patrons. Peekskill Coffee House, 101 S. Division St.

"From Nature" Art Reception for Peekskill Artist Larry D'Amico: 1-5 p.m. Flat Iron Gallery, 105 S. Division St., Peekskill.
