The HRHCare Health Center at Peekskill will host these monthly group meetings facilitated by The LOFT: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Services Center and Westchester Jewish Community Services’ Center Lane LGBTQ Youth Center in their second floor Founders Room. They will give HRHCare patients and other community members who are identified or allied with the LGBT community a chance to discuss important LGBT health issues as well as support each other through group discussion and sharing.
Center Lane will begin facilitating a monthly group for LGBT youth ages 13-21 from 5-6:30 p.m., followed by The LOFT group for LGBT adults ages 18 and older from 7-8:30 p.m.
These monthly meetings will continue to be the second Wednesday of every month. Beginning Saturday, May 6, The LOFT also will offer their Silver Connections group for LGBT seniors, ages 55 and older at 11:30 a.m. the first Wednesday of every month. All group meetings will take place in the Founders Room on the second floor of the HRHCare Health Center at Peekskill, 1037 Main St.
“HRHCare is thrilled to continue our relationship with The LOFT and welcome WJCS Center Lane as a partner,” said Anne Kauffman Nolon, MPH, president and CEO of HRHCare. “This collaboration strengthens our commitment to providing quality health care and support for members of the LGBT community of all ages.”
"The LOFT has been working with HRHCare for many years on issues surrounding the MSM community,” said Scott Havelka, director of programs and services at The LOFT. “This new collaboration in Peekskill will broaden the services to the entire LGBT community and demonstrate the many possibilities when LGBT service providers partner with health care providers."
