Yorktown Resident Charged With Violating Order Of Protection

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Yorktown man is facing a criminal contempt charge after authorities found him unresponsive at a local home in violation of an order of protection, according to police.

Yorktown police said a 29-year-old Yorktown man has been charged with second-degree criminal contempt.

Robert F. Chirurgi Jr. was taken to Hudson Valley Hospital Center after police and paramedics found him at a Hitching Post Lane home about 9:50 a.m. Thursday, according to Yorktown police.

Chirurgi was treated at the hospital and released to police custody about three hours later. According to police, officers had learned that a judge had ordered Chirurgi not visit the home.

The 29-year-old was arraigned in Yorktown Town Court, where he was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor, according to police.

Chirurgi was taken to the Westchester County Jail, where he was held on $3,500 cash bail. He is to return to Yorktown Town Court at 6 p.m. Thursday.
