Nicholas J. Salfelder of Lagrangeville was arrested just minutes after allegedly robbing the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union on South Road around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, said Town of Poughkeepsie Police Capt. Kevin Faber.

Police said Salfelder walked into the bank and told the teller he had a gun and demanded money. He placed the money in a bag and exited the business.

Responding officers were given a description and within minutes found Salfelder, along with the cash, Faber said.

No one was injured and no gun was found.

Salfelder is being held without bail at the Dutchess County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
