Nicholas J. Salfelder of Lagrangeville was arrested shortly after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, when police received a call of a reported bank robbery at the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union on South Road (Route 9), said Town of Poughkeepsie Police Lt. Kevin Faber.

Salfelder entered the bank and told the teller he had a gun and demanded money, Faber said.

He then placed the money in a bag and left the bank.

There were no injuries, and no gun was displayed, Faber said.

A description of the robber was given to responding officers who located Salfelder nearby with all of the proceeds, Faber said.

No gun was located on Salfelder or in the area. He is being held pending charges.
