Roy Guzik, 47, of Peekskill, was arrested at approximately 1:15 a.m. and charged with one count of third-degree burglary, a felony, when New York State Troopers from the Cortlandt barracks responded to an alarm at the Getty gas station located at 2058 State Route 6.

Responding troopers were told by the gas station’s owner that after the alarm sounded he immediately checked his security camera system from his residence and saw a man throw a large stone through the front glass door, enter the station and take several packs of cigarettes from the shelves.

On his way to the gas station, the owner observed a man running west on Route 6 toward Peekskill who looked like the man he had observed on camera. The station owner alerted state troopers, who soon located the man on Conklin Avenue.

Guzik was taken into custody and taken to the Cortlandt barracks and charged with one count of third-degree Burglary. He was arraigned at Cortlandt Town Court and released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance on May 20.
