Peekskill Woman Charged In Theft From BJ's In Yorktown

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have arrested a 77-year-old resident of Peekskill on a larceny charge following an incident at BJ’s Wholesale Club.

Police received a call from the store at 3303 Crompond Road, reporting a shoplifter in custody on Thursday, May 26, at 2:48 p.m., according to officials.

Police responded, and Ena Giler was arrested for allegedly trying to leave the store without attempting to pay for assorted groceries and household items valued at $157.91, police report.

Giler was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor, according to officials.

Following processing, she was issued an appearance ticket directing her to answer the charge against her in Yorktown Court on Thursday, June 23, police report.

The defendant was then released on $100 bail, according to officials.
