Jessica Kosilla, 28, of Peekskill was arrested on May 7 at 3:30 p.m. and charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony, on Highland Avenue by Police Detective John Bennett.

Kosilla was arrested following a residential burglary that took place on Highland Avenue at around 4:30 a.m. that morning, police said.

“A resident heard a noise but though nothing of it but later found out someone had entered through the basement,” said Peekskill Police Spokesman Sgt. Ray Henderlong. “There was no danger, she had no contact with the residents.”

Police said they developed information leading to Kosilla’s quick apprehension and recovery of the unnamed stolen property. Kosilla lived several blocks from the residence she entered and was not an acquaintance, Henderlong said.

Kosilla was taken into custody without incident and held pending her arraignment in the City of Peekskill Court.
