Cortlandt Man, 69, Charged With Stealing From Sears

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – Paul E. Cahan, a 69-year-old Cortlandt Manor resident, has been charged with petit larceny after he allegedly fled a Sears without paying for assorted sockets valued at $99.99 on Saturday, Nov. 8, Yorktown Police said.

Police say a call was received from Sears security reporting a shoplifter who fled the scene. Police were dispatched to the scene and arrested a male in the Jefferson Valley parking lot, who is identified as Cahan.

Following processing at police headquarters, Cahan was issued an appearance ticket to answer the charge in Yorktown Court on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 6 p.m. Cahan was released on $100 bail.
