Officers Kenneth Knapp and Ralph Bertold from the East Fishkill Police Department were dispatched to a Warren Drive residence shortly before 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, following a report of a 29-year-old woman overdosing who was in a bathroom, up against the door, preventing others in the home to gain entry.

Police said upon arrival, the two officers managed to get into the bathroom, and “quickly determined that the patient had overdosed on heroin. They found her unresponsive, with a slow pulse and shallow breathing.

One of the officers administered two doses of Narcan to the woman, who became conscious and alert, police said. She was transported to a local hospital for additional treatment after being revived.
