Raymond D. Ray, Jr., 67, Formerly Of Peekskill, Marine Corps Veteran

BOLIVIA, N.C. - Raymond D. Ray, Jr., now of Bolivia, formerly a lifelong resident of Peekskill, died July 26. He was 67.

Ray was born Nov. 3, 1945, in Peekskill,  to Raymond D. and Carolyn Otte Ray. He graduated from Ricker College in Maine, attended Fort Schuyler Maritime College and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for IBM for many years and recently worked as a computer consultant for Chain-SYS. He was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Peekskill, and a former member of the Mt Carmel Society in Verplanck and of the Hendrick Hudson Lions.

Ray is survived by his wife, Marie Avati Ray; children, Brian Ray and Allison (Jonathan) Odom; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Tuesday, July 30 at the E.O. Curry Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 31 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Peekskill, followed by private cremation.
