'Sexually Violent Offender' Convicted Of Abusing Children Reports Move In Peekskill

A registered "sexually violent" offender convicted of incest and rape involving children under the age of 7 has reported a move in Westchester County.

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 64-year-old Joseph Dunn, who has moved from to a residence on High Street in Peekskill.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Dunn as a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” He has also been designated as a sexually violent sex offender.

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Dunn had deviate sexual intercourse and contact with a 6-year-old girl and 4-year-old boy in January 1985.

He was convicted of engaging in sexual intercourse with a related person, rape with a person less than 11 years old and sodomy in January the following year. Dunn was sentenced to a term of between 100 months to 25 years in state prison and is now under the jurisdiction of the Peekskill City Police Department.
