School Events Led The News This Week In Peekskill

WESTCHESTER, N.Y. -- School events dominated the news this week in Peekskill and Cortlandt:

Peekskill elected three people to the Peekskill City School District Board of Education and passed the district's budget.

Peekskill Superintendent of Schools James Willis announced he was stepping down at the end of the school year.

Three incumbent board members were reelected and a budget was passed in the Hendrick Hudson School District.

In the Croton-Harmon School District, two new trustees were elected to the board of education and the district's budget was passed.

The Lakeland Central School District saw its budget passed by voters and three incumbent board of education members were re-elected.

A Cortlandt man was charged by police with impersonating a cop in Peekskill.

A Cortlandt Manor man was indicted in a Greenburgh drug deal death.

Cortlandt celebrated Memorial Day Friday afternoon with many veterans and local elected officials.

The Peekskill Democratic City Committee announced it was endorsing incumbent democrats for Common Council in this fall's election.
