Road Closings Set for Cinco de Mayo in Peekskill

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. — The city's Cinco de Mayo celebration will be held Saturday, May 5, and the Peekskill Downtown Business Improvement District has requested that several downtown streets be closed to traffic for the event.

The Cinco de Mayo festivities will shut down South Division Street between South Street and Park Street; North Division Street between Park Street and Main Street; Park Street between Division Street and Bank Street; and Central Avenue between Division Street and Nelson Avenue up to the driveway for the municipal parking lot.

Events for Cinco de Mayo, which celebrates Mexican independence, will run from 1 to 11 p.m. Check back later this week for more information about this year's festivities.
