PEEKSKILL More than 100 people descended on Riverfront Green Park Wednesday for a night of live music as the sun began to set on the Hudson River.
The Andy Polay Quintet, led by drummer and Peekskill Police Officer Andy Polay, gave a performance of smooth jazz to help people unwind after a day of work. Many concertgoers brought comfy lounge chairs and coolers with food and drinks for a picnic dinner.
Wednesday's show was the third of this year's Peekskill Riverfront Summer Concert Series, which kicked off with the Fourth of July performance by the band The Bad Habits.

On August 5 the series will end with the Peekskill Celebration's Kick-off Reggae Dance Party with Third Wave Bandits and Under The Rasta Influence starting at 6 p.m.
"We've been doing this for 30 years" said concert series organizer Cathy Montaldo. It's a lot of fun. It's a free event in this beautiful park on the Hudson River. If you're hot in your house you can come down and enjoy the breeze and great entertainment. It's a great way to relax in the middle of the week."
Fellow parks and recreation employee Joe Moran said the series offers music that attracts people of all ages.
"We have all kinds of bands, from reggae to Doo Wop," Moran said. "Last week we had a country western band, this week there's jazz."
