Peekskill Council Approves 2014 City Budget

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The Peekskill Common Council recently approved a budget for 2014 that carries a 1.88 percent tax increase, according to theexaminernews.com.

The tax increase is half of what was proposed in the city manager's original spending plan. The new budget also keeps sewer and water rates steady, theexaminernews.com reported. 

The unanimously approved budget also calls for funding to increase police, fire and code enforcement overtime as well as upgrades to the city's website and social media presence, according to theexaminernews.com.
