The man, who was aboard a homemade aircraft, lost control after takeoff, according to News 12.
The aircraft flipped after hitting runway lighting just after 1 p.m. The FAA has already ruled the crash an accident, but it will still be investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board to find a probable cause, lohud.com reported.
The unidentified pilot was taken to Orange Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, lohud.com said.
