Hats Off To Peekskill's Class Of 2011

Approximately 200 Peekskill High School seniors graduated Sunday afternoon in a ceremony that featured song and reflection by staff and students alike.Faculty, students and their families packed into the large tent on the front lawn, which overflowed into the yard, where many people watched the ceremony from afar.Class president Derek Johnson, salutatorian Jose Lebron, and valedictorian Fadhel Hamid all addressed their peers after the singing of the national anthem by students Jachelle Walker and Bria Waterman.Peekskill High School Principal Sherrill Murray-Lazarus and Superintendent of Schools Lorenzo Licopoli also spoke about the Class of 2011 and their accomplishments.Licopoli introduced young members of the Class of 2018, who performed Michael Jackson's "Heal the World" during the ceremony.
