PEEKSKILL, N.Y. Sara M. Leonardo, formerly of Peekskill, died May 19 at her home in Woodstock, Ga. She was 90.
Born Oct. 16, 1921 in the Bronx, N.Y., she was the daughter of Edward and Sara Hickling Milmore. She married Consolato Leonardo Feb. 22, 1942 at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church in the Bronx.
Leonardo worked as a mortgage and loans officer at Citibank for many years, retiring from the Eastchester branch. She formerly was a communicant of Church of the Assumption in Peekskill before moving to Woodstock three years ago.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Consolato; a son, Gary (Lilli) Leonardo; a daughter, Maureen (Michael) Keough; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Leonardo was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday at E.O. Curry Funeral Home in Peekskill. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Church of the Assumption. Entombment will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum in Putnam Valley, N.Y.
