Last year the honor was bestowed upon Salvatore Scaramellino, the long-time owner of the former Sorrento’s Restaurant.

This year’s festival is scheduled for Aug. 10, 11 and 12. An opening ceremony with a dedication to the Honorary Italian(s) will take place on Aug. 10.

The requirements for all nominations are:

• Nominees must have done something significant in Peekskill.

All nominations are due by July 15 and should be submitted to: teresa@changmowen.com. The nomination committee will review all entries and notify the honored recipient by Aug. 1.
