“Community health centers provide care to approximately 28 million people in urban and rural communities across the country, with that care being provided increasingly by teams including nurse practitioners,” said Rev. Jeannette J. Phillips, Hudson River Health Care Founder and Executive Vice President. “These three nurse practitioners have completed an intense year of post-graduate training and are ready to serve health center patients with skill, quality and compassion.”

The HRHCare Nurse Practitioner Residency Program grew out of HRHCare’s partnership with the Community Health Center of Connecticut, which established the country’s first nurse practitioner residency program in 2007, and the Montefiore Hudson Valley Collaborative. The twelve-month program was designed specifically for family nurse practitioners who are committed to developing careers as clinicians in community health centers, and includes precepted primary care sessions, specialty rotations and quality improvement training.
