"I'm all about the Christmas music," the singer-songwriter said on Monday.

Wainwright, known for her rich contralto voice, personal lyrics and Earth mother vibe, has been assembling a big band and a chorus of voices to perform traditional, contemporary and original songs for 17 years now.

Officially called Sloan’s Annual Holiday Whiz-Bang Shin-Dig, the concert will feature the Mighty Sloan Wainwright Band and chorus, whose members are collectively known as the Sloan Flakes.

In Wainwright’s big gift bag of performers are: David Roth, a Massachusetts singer known for taking top honors in songwriter competitions in Kerrville, Texas, and Falcon Ridge, N.Y.; Nashville-based musician Kate Campbell, whose gift for storytelling has drawn comparisons to such southern literary lions as Flannery O’Connor and Eudora Welty; and Katonah’s own Peter Linz, a master puppeteer who has performed many characters on children’s TV shows, including Blue’s Room and Sesame Street.

Also known for his recent turn in the Broadway musical “Avenue Q,” Linz is expected to bring “a special surprise,” to the holiday blast, Wainwright said Monday.

Wainwright is part of a great, big musical clan.

She is the younger sister of folksinger, actor and humorist Loudon Wainwright III and the aunt of musicians Rufus Wainwright, Martha Wainwright and Lucy Wainwright.

Her husband, George McTavey, a builder, died in 2008 after a long illness. The couple have two sons, Sam and Gabe.

The show starts at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Bedford Presbyterian Church, 44 Village Green, Bedford. The church can be reached at (914) 234-3672.

Tickets are available online (using PayPal) at www.sloanwainwright.com.

They are $40 in advance; $45 at the door. Seating is general.

Unlike Mary and Joseph, who had to bunk in a stable after being tossed from an overfilled inn, “no one will be turned away,” Wainwright said, vowing to “pack the house to the rafters.”
