"Johnny has Gone for a Soldier 1776-1976," is a film and musical tribute to "all who served" scheduled for 2 - 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 21.

Tickets to the event cost $10 per person for the general public. Children under 12 and museum members will be allowed entrance for $5 each.

The show "chronicles America's wartime story" through the use of film, song, verse and still images, according to a statement from the museum.

Ballads and songs from the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, World War I, World War II and Vietnam will "evoke those powerful images and memories that continue to define our unique and shared American experience," the statement said.

Those songs selected for the performance will inspire patriotism, a sense of national purpose and urge people to reflect on the human costs of conflict and the necessity for war, according to the statement.
