Get Your Freak Shake Here: Westchester's Sugar Hi Is A 'Sweet' Destination

Westchester must have a sweet tooth. This story  -- about twin sisters opening a candy, cake and ice cream shop in Armonk -- was one of the most popular Daily Voice stories of 2017. What follows is the original piece, which ran in late October.

Hilary Assael plans to ruin your diet  ---and make your life "sweeter."

Her new bakery, Sugar Hi, which she runs with her twin sister Elissa Weinhoff, an EMT with the Armonk Fire Department, opened Sunday, Oct. 22 and promises lots of cronuts, cakes, candy (including high-end chocolate), freak shakes, homemade pop tarts, oversized rice crispy treats, and banana pudding, among other treats.

Their motto: "What You Crave."

The Armonk shop, at 380 Main St, is a long-held dream for the self-taught baker who started making birthday cakes when she realized she could do better than the expensive ones she was buying for her kids.

The sugar shack is available for parties, custom orders, gift baskets and, of course, any sweet items you have to have.
