This is an utter failure of leadership and vision by Dolan...Dr. McNiff...and the pastor! This school served the community in so many ways...and to have these children and teachers kicked out in such a callous fashion is truly unsettling. But also, the lack of a real movement to save this school within the Assumption/Peekskill community. No public discussions were held...no meetings with parents and parishoners...or the Mayors office convened...no fund drives...nothing! This ladies and gentlemen is how THEY win! Sitting on our backsides...praying for a solution is not the answer. Standing up for your rights and demanding better for our children and community is how WE win! Dolan has no credability left at all...and if you think things are going to get better just look at what's happening in his former post - Milwaukee...its riddled with abuse cases...shady money dealings...filed for bankruptcy...and will cut their schools and parishes in half! When historians write about the Fall of American Catholicism decades from now...Dolan's name will play a big role in that demise. We as Catholics must fill our lives with people and experiences that genuinely fulfill Christs mission...and if a cardinal or the Archdiocese falls short...we need to let them know about it!
