kasey38, you are right. i dont appreciate the Croton Police, they are useless. If I could I would drastically reduce the department. how come a sargeant in Croton earns more than his equivalent in NYC? is crime in Croton harder to solve? cause they definitevely do not solve any thefts. I understand that there is a union contract, but negotiations are starting now. we should drastically reduce benefits and/or police force. how can we we accept a 4% salary increase? @ german59. I agree regarding the police force. I thought I was the only one that felt this way. Also I would reduce the size of the fire department. Although they are volunteers and dont get paid, they get tax breaks and the maintenance of the fleet is too much. I recognize that Leo does not have an easy task as a mayor, but I was baffled when during the last budget meeting they were proposing raising salaries and to approve a tax increase above the 2% state limits. Why would they need a study to determine if a $3MM spending with a $30k yearly income makes financial sense. You will get a better return investment in US Treasuries. You'll get you money back in 30 years instead of a 100 years. View Comment
