If you do not correct this error re: the state senate districts, you will be doing a disservice to the voters who will expect to see Cohen and Latimer's names on the ballot. View Comment
The newly reconfigured state senate district has Ossining in the 38th State Senate District (Rockland County plus Ossining), currently represented by David Carlucci. So, you should make a correction in your article. View Comment
Oh, the gods in heaven have heard our prayers. That pompous Michael G. is finally going to get his comeuppance. I'll be the first one on line on Nov 6 to approve the Town Board's decision. View Comment
What's next? I'm afraid to think of the possibilities. I'm just thankful that I (hopefully) will not be around to see it. It's 'not welcome to Ossining-on-Hudson,' it's 'Welcome to Ecuador-on-Hudson.' View Comment
My wife found a claim of about $69 from an old bank account. We were as happy as clams.
But, then, I found, a claim in my father's name from 50 years ago and two claims in my mother's name from 40 - 45 years ago. ($3,000 +)
I also found five claims in my aunt's deceased in-laws who lived in Ossining. View Comment
I thank God every day that my father insisted that I attend parochial school. When I see the students nowadays, they can't add two figures in their head without using a calculator (my father, God rest his soul, working at the old A&P on Broad Avenue, could take a crayon and paperbag, list 15 or 20 items' prices and come up with the correct sum everytime.
How many of our current US Supreme Court Justices can an average OHS student name? Could an OHS student tell you the ruling on Plessy v. Ferguson? Or in what year the US Supreme Court deemed income tax unconstitutional?
But, they certainly can tell you what's going on with Kim Kardashian or that Jersey Shore girl.
Thank you, Dad. I excelled in Catholic school and beyond. Sadly my parents were not alive to see me achieve an honor I never thought I would receive - induction into 'Who's Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges,' which honors the top 10% of college graduates. View Comment
The oldest is Washington Hook & Ladder - founded in 1812. My father was a 22 year life member. My grandfather was, too. It would have been nice if this company had been mentioned in the article. View Comment
They might as well, the village is already going to 'he-- in a hen basket already.'
The village should be also prepared to provide residents, like me, with epi-pens - because I'm allergic to bee-stings, and I will be damned if I am going to pay for this medication if this measure is adopted
I personally can not remember a time in which the Village Board ever listened to the public. View Comment

Mr. Schnecker brings up some very valid points. If the community were polled on this matter, I strongly suspect that they would oppose this. I agree with Mr. Schnecker 100%. But the lame Village Board will do whatever it wants and approve the measure. It will be yet another way to bring this once vibrant village into the gutter...where it has languished for decades. What a fascinating article! Kudos to both Ms. Emerson and Mr. Reynolds.
I've already dropped a gentle hint to my family to get this wonderful book for me for the holidays. View Comment
Thank you for publishing the obituary of this remarkable lady. Like her father, before her, Yvette lived well into her 90s, and, like her father, she served as Ossining Town Democratic Committee Chairman. I will miss her very much. View Comment
