Why do you emphasize drug busts over all the other good news in Peekskill? There is democracy at work in school board elections, your great story on Christine Lavin, local art, music and food, Playland - I would not have thought that drug arrests topped the news until you said so. Maybe you mean press releases from the police dept. topped the pile? And, all those people arrested are innocent until proven guilty. View Comment
Why would you want to be so negative in your Saturday prediction? Peekskill's students and coaches have been working hard. A victory is definitely possible. View Comment
We travelled to Cooperstown a few years ago to watch the induction of our hometown hero from Baltimore, Cal Ripkin, into the Hall of Fame; there were an estimated 70,000 people there. It was a wonderful day - peaceful, happy, and the ceremony was free. Looking forward to reading this book. View Comment
I differ. John Cheever wrote beautifully. His lovely first novel The Wapshot Chronicle is set in Massachusetts. His lovely last novel Oh What a Paradise it Seems addresses the threat of pollution. His novel Falconer is about Sing Sing. He certainly told nuanced stories and I don't think there is anything at all limited about his imagination, and his books all merit reading. View Comment
