Could you please point out the village code that requires a request for a procession be made a month advance? You can't, because it's not there. The church submitted the request to the police, who authorized it. The board issues the permit based on the police recommendations. If Mr. Daraio has an issue with timing he should seek to the chief of police. View Comment
How many people texting and driving don't realize it's illegal? How many don't already know they should pull over to do it, and just ignore the dangers? Are these signs in area's that have no shoulder? on the rare occasions that I have needed to send a text while driving, I pull over onto the shoulder. I see people all the time pulled over making phone calls and using mobile devices. The signs are a waste. Yes people need to be made aware of the dangers, and I am all for a media campaign, and a crack down with more enforcement of laws, but signs on the highway are a waste of money. View Comment

You guys dropped the Ball on this article. View Comment
I don't understand from this article. Is that $5k including the missing scrap? This all cries of petty politics if you ask me. The board tries to change the position from elected to appointed, loose the vote, and now all the sudden start making an big deal about an issue that has been going on for years? Issues that predate Mr O'Connor's tenure. Sounds to me like the board is taking retribution on Mr. O'Connor for a decision the tax payers voted on. Petty politics wont win any votes from me. Work with Mr. O'Connor, not against him. you're all on the same team, act like it. View Comment
I don't know what the purpose of the map was supposed to be. I did not make it. As for it having nothing to do with recent events, i think a gun is a gun and a life is a life. If you think the second amendment gives you the right to personal ownership of a fire arm, then whatever laws have to do with fire arms are related. But that is beside the point. My point was that what police organizations f did in response to this was a lot more dangerous than the act they seem to be against. If you want to hold people accountable, hold everyone accountable. So will they also be holding police accountable for actions taken against reporters when police started posting names and addresses of journal news employees? Because say what you will about the map, you still have to know where someone lives first to see if they have a gun. And if a convict finds out where a cop lives, they would rightly assume the cop had a gun. I think that's the part people seem to be missing. It's not like the map allowed you to put in a name and have an address pop up. You have to click the address to get a name. There are much easier ways to get someones address on the internet. Having police agencies post a picture of a house with a name and address to a bunch of pissed off people is a lot more dangerous. So please keep the same standards for both sides.
Engelesq, i hadn't thought of it that way before, that makes more sense then the other way round View Comment
So how is highway superintendent any different then say town supervisor, which is currently held by a politician as well? Should we give up our right to vote there as well and let some politicians just pick one?
If there is a more qualified person than the man in the position, let them run against him in the next election. Heck, the board can even endorse one candidate over the other, But don't use our tax money to shove an agend at the town. It is this type of board, insinuating that the people can't make an educated decision in an election, that is keeping politics as usual in our town, state and federal governments. View Comment
May I also recommend you tip your server a little extra. This is a very large discount at some of these locations, and people who tip as a percentage of their check will be tipping less for the same amount of work and knowledge on the staffs part. In turn your waiter will be making less money because of this. Don't penalize the wait staff. View Comment
I don't care who won this debate. Because in November the American people are the ones who will be losing. no matter which one of these two wins, the only people who will truly benefit are wealthy elite, and corporations. It is time we have some real third parties invited to the debates. the lengths that the two dominant parties go to to suppress third parties is disgusting, and not beneficial to our nation.
