“A late surge in registrations has occurred over the last two weeks that will allow Lapolla Little League to field a three-team major division (ages 9-12) and a four team minor division (ages 6-9),” said league president Chris Hanzlik. “The board is also excited and encouraged that registrations continue to come in for the T-ball division (4 and 5-year-olds), which will have the greatest number of teams this season.”
Opening day ceremonies are on schedule for Saturday, April 20 starting at 9 a.m. at the Lapolla fields in Tompkins Park.
The league will continue to accept registrations for all divisions until May 4. Parents can register their children online through the league website, http://www.eteamz.com/LapollaLittleLeague, or in person at the Peekskill Park and Recreation office at Depew Park from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. From April 20 through May 4 registration forms can be picked up at the Tompkins Park clubhouse on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays when games are being played.
The registration fees are $50 for T-Ball players and $65 for minor and major division players. Each child registered will receive either 50 or 65 raffle tickets, which can be picked up at our Tompkins Park clubhouse on Opening Day, and will allow the parents/guardians to recover up to the full amount by selling the tickets and keeping the proceeds.
For those parents/guardians that want their children to play but cannot afford the fee, there are a very limited amount of scholarships available on a first-come, first-served basis.
