Among those honored was Oswald Annang, a junior who was named All-Section and All-Section MVP this past season. Annang, a team captain, had five assists and, on four occasions, scored game-winning goals. Annang also was named league MVP and Peekskill Schools’ Fall Sports Player of the Month in September.

“He is an amazing player who has great technical skill, strength, determination and leadership,” said Annang’s coach Jonathan Isillo. “More impressively, he is a superb example of a student-athlete. He earns good grades, is well-liked by his peers and teachers and shows class and character on and off the field.”

Also honored was Chelsea Ogindo, a senior track and field/cross-country star. Ogindo, who won multiple awards this season, received a scholarship from SUNY Binghamton.

Two Peekskill coaches also were among those recognized. Cami Blazejewski and Jonathan Iasillo both were named Coach of the Year by peers in Conference 1, League C.

Blazejewski has coached the Peekskill varsity girls' soccer team the past three years. This is her second consecutive Coach of the Year award.

“It is truly an honor to have been chosen Coach of the Year for the second year in a row,” Blazejewski said. “It is really nice when your peers recognize all of the hard work that you are doing.”

Iasillo, who coaches boys' varsity soccer at Peekskill, received his award after his team finished the season 10-7. There were several players on the team that earned the All-Section, All-Section Honorable Mention and All-League awards.

He credits his team's success the past years to the program's positive philosophy. This is his first Coach of the Year award.

“I am very honored to be named our league's coach of the year,” Iasillo said. “ It has been a pleasure to coach a fine group of young men who exhibit dedication, class, and character both on and off the field.”
