Lakeland High School Will Induct Alum Amy Voelkel To Its 2014 Hall Of Fame

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Lakeland High School has announced it induct Amy Voelkel, an alumna and former field hockey, basketball and lacrosse student-athlete, to its 2014 Hall of Fame.

Voelkel is a 2007 Lakeland graduate. She had an outstanding career in field hockey, basketball and lacrosse. A rundown of her accomplishments is below.  Field Hockey: • First Team All-League Field Hockey 2003 • All-Section 2004-2006 • All-State 2005 and 2006 • Varsity Starter – four years • Team Captain • State and Sectional Champs 2003 and 2006 • Scored 45 Goals with 32 assists in her career Basketball: • All-League 2004 • All Section and All State 2005, 2006 and 2007 • MVP of NY State Basketball Championships 2007 • Varsity Starter – four years • School records: 100 pt. club • Captain • MVP Section I Tournament

Lacrosse: • Honorable Mention All-League 2004 • All-League 2004 • All Section 2005-2007 • All American 2007 • Scholar Academic All American • Varsity Starter – four years • Score 100+ Goals • Garnered Female Player of the Year Honors from North County News (NCN) • Con Edison Award Winner • Member of LHS National Honor Society Other awards and scholarships: • Recipient of the Wellesley College Book Award in recognition of outstanding academic achievement and leadership with the school and community • Recipient of the Richard E. Shields Memorial Mathematics Award • Recipient of the Vincent & Theresa Giglio Memorial Scholarship Award for Citizenship, sportsmanship and leadership. • Member of Hudson Valley Empire Scholastic State Basketball Team 2004, 2005 and 2006. • Member of Hudson Valley Empire Open State Basketball Team 2007, 2008 and 2009.
