The six-week program will prepare student-athletes for the upcoming athletic seasons. The program will begin on Monday, July 7 and will run Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Students entering grades 7-12 can attend either the 4 p.m. session or the 5 p.m. session on those days.

The program will be implemented by Athletic Trainer Meg Greiner. Throughout the summer, various varsity coaches will be there for support as well.

“This program derived from the Hendrick Hudson Strategic Plan," said Athletic Director Tom Baker. "We also had the assistance of community member, Mark Merchant, and his As One Fitness Program.

"He trained many of our staff members, and coaches in implementing a program that will benefit our student-athletes. It is my hope that many of our athletes take advantage of this great opportunity. I really want to thank all of the constituents who contributed to this wonderful opportunity for our students.”

The program was funded through the fundraising efforts of the Varsity Club, the Hen Hud Hall of Fame Committee, the Volleyball Club, and the Sailors Cheerleading Club.

“Being able to offer this innovative program for our students will have a positive impact on the student-athletes for the upcoming school year,” said Baker.

This program comes at no cost to the students who take advantage of it. If Hen Hud students are interested in attending, all that is needed is to show up at the Hendrick Hudson High School gym on the program days, and sign in.
