PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – Peekskill native and former NFL athlete Dana Melvin will host a book signing Saturday at Kathleen's Tea Room.
Melvin's book, “PHAT and Fit: The Ultimate Workout for Women of Color,” is a fitness guide with the latest tips on diet, exercise and a positive attitude. Atlanta's FOX 5 News called Melvin, now an Atlanta resident, one of the city's top personal trainers.
At Peekskill High School, Melvin was a star athlete in track and field, football and basketball. He went on to play for the Buffalo Bills.
“When I started writing this book, I wanted readers to think broadly about obesity and health – to understand that being physically fit and healthy involves life changes for a lifetime,” Melvin said. “It’s not a one-size-fits-all process that happens overnight.”
Melvin will sign copies of his book from 3 to 7 p.m. Kathleen’s Tea Room is at 979 Main St.
