Peekskill Schools Seek Volunteers For Special Olympics Event

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Peekskill school officials are looking for 30 more volunteers for the district’s upcoming Special Olympics.

The event will take place from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, at Torpy Field on Hudson Avenue.

The district said no experience is necessary for volunteers who will perform such duties as timing events, recording scores, and escorting contestants.

Volunteers will also act as line guards, help call contestants and rake sand.

The event requires a total of 120 volunteers, the district said.
