PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The 2016-2017 Peekskill school budget was approved by voters Tuesday.

Voters approved the $86.5 million budget 341 to 153. The budget increases spending by 3.48 percent and increases the tax levy by 1.11 percent.

Michael Simpkins, Maria Pereira and Jillian Villon ran unopposed for three school board seats.
